Why seeking a consultation is important?

When it comes to overcoming your dogs issues it is important we seek help from a professional, and part of that will include a consultation to discuss the issues at hand.

By having a consult it means that you can discuss in depth all of the problems you are having, and it helps get to the bottom of what is causing these issues. Without a consult or physical session it is hard for someone to be able to give true advice on how to fix things.

While techniques you can find on youtube or tiktok may help you with loose lead walking or recall, when it comes down to the deep depths of behavioural issues these little clips online may actually make your dog worse. It is important to realise every dog is different, and while one technique may work for one dog it may not work for another. It is our job as trainers to get to the bottom of your dogs issues and we cannot do that without a consultation.

Yes we can do virtual consults, and review videos of what your dogs do, and through this we can assess what steps you think can be taken. But this would be a bare minimum, a good trainer wont give out indepth advice without a consult, because it could be the wrong advice.

We all like to do what we can to give out some basic info to help people, and we enjoy making fun videos. But it is really important in more complex cases that we gain all the information we need on your dog, what they've been through, what they eat, their daily routine. All of these things paint a picture on why your dog may be behaving the way they are.

So my advice to you is if you are struggling, to reach out to a trainer for a consult.
