No Reward Without Risk

We cover a range of animals including - Dogs, cats, horses, reptiles, birds and plenty of other animals.

In all parts of my business there is a risk of things going wrong, being bitten by a dog, scratched by a cat or kicked by a horse. Theres a risk of dogs running off, animals being injured, cars breaking down. But without these risks, there is no business. If you're too scared of the risk you never see the end result, a business cannot thrive without taking a leap of faith. Without taking that risk of failure!

This also applies to dog training! Lets talk recall.

We can go on training our dogs on a long line for weeks and weeks until the dog comes back every single time. But one day we take that risk of taking the long line off and trusting our dog! The dog could run off and not come straight back to recall OR they could come back every single time. HOWEVER you would never know without taking that risk of letting them off the lead.

Our dog walking - We do lots of solos as we specialise in reactive dogs. Unfortunately everytime we take a dog outside the house we risk bumping into their trigger and risk a reaction. Sometimes the risks are unavoidable, but for those reactive dogs it could be a good day. No reaction, only learning.

We cannot go through life without taking risks, and for those working within the animal industry alot of the time risks are unavoidable and can just be part of the job. Every day working with dogs with behavioural issues i risk being bitten, everyday working with horses i risk being kicked. But its part of what we love and what we do. Its reward over risk everyday.
